About the Artist
Kathleen’s most recent series of paintings celebrates native plants and grasses as they lean into the sun and thrive. The viewer is eye-level with the foreground plants giving a sculptural quality to each painting and a strong sense of place.
She starts a painting using a photo reference of some charming thing that she encounters on her daily walks. Then Kathleen incorporates visual memories and design choices as she build a landscape around them. In this way, she insures the painting is uniquely her own with a dreamy, déjà vu feel.
Kathleen’s work can be found in numerous private and public collections including St. Mary’s University, Health Partners, Hennepin County Medical Center, and Regions Hospital.
