Minnesota Monthly magazine called Danny a “mechanical alchemist.” In addition to mechanical sculptures Danny creates jewelry that’s been showcased at the Walker Art Center. He is also an Instructor of Metalsmithing at Carleton College and is a founding member and board member for the Minnesota Jewelry Arts Guild (MNJAG).

Danny creates mixed-media, interactive sculptures inspired by his work as a jeweler, his love of sailing, and his fascination with flying. Of his work, Danny says, “My art rejects that notion of speed that seems to drive our lives. The finished piece imitates the way it was created, its thoughts and ideas parsed out through hours of assembly. I do not always know the core meaning of the piece until I spend considerable time with it, in a sort of hesitant conversation.”
