Sleek lines, elegant curves, compelling forms, inviting textures, and seductive colors derived from nature are characteristics of Cameron Zebrun’s work. He is particularly inspired by the colors of the woods and water of northern Minnesota. The fields of cartography, geography, and topography also play important roles in his work. The result is elegant sculptures created on very thin layers of wood on which Cameron paints and collages abstractions from his observations.

Cameron’s artwork has been exhibited in galleries, art centers, and in university museums across the U.S. His work also lives in many private collections and has been collected by the Minnesota Museum of American Art in St. Paul, Minnesota and the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art in Madison, Wisconsin. For 26 years until his retirement in 2017, Zebrun was on staff at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis as Director of Program Services. While at the Walker, he oversaw the re-installation of the Walker Art Center’s renovated and expanded outdoor sculpture garden. Cameron has been represented by Kolman & Reeb Gallery since 2014.
