Project Space Grantee, Kristina Fjellman, will be in the gallery again this Saturday, September 19, 12-2 p.m., collecting fabric for her project.
Kristina is an abstract artist whose work explores community, labor, and material memory through hand-sewn fabric forms constructed on wire. For her grant project, Kristina is creating a new body of work using fabrics collected from the local community, that’s you. Much like a patchwork quilt, each piece will be composed of varied scraps donated by gallery visitors. Gallery visitors who contribute fabric will be acknowledged in the finished works’ description, emphasizing the collaborative nature of the project.
If you want to help Kristina create her artworks, please stop by the gallery on Saturday between 12-2 p.m.
